I've been playing around with markers, pens and graphite in my sketchbook lately, trying on different styles for size. I've been having fun with inspiration from Manga and Anime (two of my fave styles of drawing!), doing some fashion sketching and testing different techniques inspired by cartoons. I love the exaggerated features of Anime and Manga, they inspired my doodles. So much fun to try something out of your comfort zone every now and then ... and of course, uncomfortable ;-) But so well worth it! I could sit for hours and get lost in one painting, that's totally my comfort zone for sure! But doing things quickly and moving from one sketch to the next? Not so much. Which is why I think it's so important to push myself to do it sometimes. I end up learning a lot, especially when I try new styles of drawing, and I'm always happy I did it. Do you ever feel like you need to snap out of your comfort zone and change your momentum even if only just slightly? Here's to more doodles and finding new happy places!! Happy Tuesday!

I absolutely love this photo I used as inspiration, from the fabulous structural design of the dress (made out of paper??) and its perfect proportions, to the hair and styling and the awesome pose of the model! It's just great!
