Congratulations to the beautiful Alicia Vikander on her Oscar win for The Danish Girl! So talented, and so graceful. I absolutely fell in love with her in Ex Machina last year, and it's so wonderful to see her take on diverse roles. The yellow Louis Vuitton gown she wore at the Oscars this year was just gorgeous. I loved the full and billowy skirt with the longer back (I refuse to use the word 'mullet' to describe this vision of a dress :-) This was one of my favorite Oscar dresses of the night, I felt that it looked so pretty and youthful on Alicia, while at the same time having a strong presence on the red carpet, more of an 'Oscar dress' than most others. And I loved the playful volume and proportions! The process of applying shading with watercolor washes and runs. This fascinates me every single time! Love playing with washes and letting the pigments do their work! A dainty foot peaking out of the voluminous dress ... I absolutely loved the modern Louis Vuitton silver shoes with the block lucite heel, so perfect with this dress! My illustration, with the beautiful inspiration, Alicia Vikander!
