Christmas was so much fun and so relaxing for me. It was great to spend some down time painting and decorating my home and just getting into the spirit of the holidays. This Christmas was focused a lot on the color red, which made my home feel very festive and everything feel even more like Christmas for me. I love to DIY a lot of my holiday decorations, and this year I also painted Christmas Girl in her festive red dress to make my decorating more fun. I hung her on my wall as part of my home rotating ‘artist in residence’ exhibit … Get it? Artist in residence? ;-) I imagined Christmas Girl got all dressed up for a fancy holiday affair (which I hardly ever do) and brought a small gift with her for a gift exchange with her friends. I mean, how often do we girls get to wear a dress like this, if ever, right?? And for me, it’s almost as much fun to paint this dress and imagine wearing it as it would be to actually be in it for one enchanting evening. And who knows what special something might be hiding in that small, red-bowed box? Perhaps something as special as the awesome Serena Kojimoto stainless steel necklace I received for Christmas? Perhaps …
