Jennifer Lawrence in Dior at the Golden Globes

Congratulations to Jennifer Lawrence for winning a Golden Globe for her role as Joy!  What a great performance, she is simply amazing and has such an ease about her in every movie role.  Not to mention the rest of the great cast: Robert De Niro, Virginia Madsen, Bradley Cooper, Diane Ladd, Donna Mills, Isabella Rossellini … a fantastic ensemble cast in a story so uplifting and inspiring, especially to women.

The stunning Dior red dress Jennifer wore at the 73rd Golden Globe Awards this year looked flawless on her.  The structure of this dress is amazing, it lends it an architectural feel.  This is one major reason I was attracted to this dress and wanted to illustrate it … once an architect, always an architect.  I started with a sketch of the flowing lines of its structure, and added the vibrant Dior red in several steps.  ​

I love how Dior combined these strong modern lines with a classic color!  The placement of the cutouts on this silhouette creates the perfect proportions and a very flattering look on Jennifer, while still leaving a lot to the imagination.  The result is a perfect dress, and Jennifer looked so beautiful in it!  Jennifer Lawrence and Dior are always a winning combination.
