Yay, it’s March! Painting this for you made me feel like it's practically spring! And I’m loving all the spring colors, especially the purples and yellows of tulips against that pretty spring green. The calendar for March, Tulip Girl, was inspired by tulips and yellow hats, those fresh spring smells when everything is in bloom, and more sun than we’ve seen here in LA this winter with all the rains and even SNOW last week! Whaaat?? Didn't get my March calendar? Sign up at cristinatudor.com today, and it'll pop right into your inbox! Here's a behind the scenes peek at my illustration process:

Happy (almost) spring! xo, Cristina Find me at cristinatudor.com, on Instagram at @thecristinatudor and on Pinterest at Cristina Tudor Art Welcome to February, the month everyone’s excited about because it not only brings with it a hint of spring, but also Valentine’s Day and a celebration of love. To me, Valentine’s Day, even though it has become so commercialized nowadays, means a switch to fresh creative juices and, of course, a healthy dose of pink ;) And I simply love to get in the spirit of it! Hopefully you do, too, with the help of my Valentine Girl. Didn't get her? Sign up at cristinatudor.com today, and she'll pop right into your inbox! Valentine Girl was inspired by a beautiful pink tulle gown by Reem Acra that I came across on Moda Operandi and simply fell in love with. The sheer layers of tulle, the volume, the romance ... I’m sending you all my best wishes for 2019, lots of health, happiness and more time with your loved ones! Happy New Year! xo, Cristina Happy December 1st! To me, December 1st means the start of my favorite time of the year: Christmas time! I love Christmas, but it could also be because my birthday is on December 27, so each year I have a lot to celebrate. This whole month I love to decorate my home for the holidays and to celebrate the season every day by doing fun, Christmasy things. I turn on my Christmas lights every night, I listen to Christmas music while I work, watch Christmas movies like ‘Elf’ and ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’, and I paint with lots of red, gold and sparkles! December 6 is also St. Nick’s in many parts of the world, including Romania where I grew up. St. Nicholas is the Christian Orthodox patron saint of Romania (as well as Greece, Russia and several other countries). He’s celebrated by all the kids cleaning and polishing their boots really well and putting them out the night before, so St. Nick can fill them up with presents - very similar to stocking stuffers. And you’d better clean those boots or else he’s going to leave only a stick for those naughty kids :) It’s no surprise that, in the holiday spirit, your December calendar is Christmas Girl, and she’s wearing a festive red dress, fully accessorized with gold ;) She’s ready for the holidays with her presents and wreath, all dressed up, on her way to a fab Christmas party. Sign up to get her at any time during the month of December, and she will arrive immediately in your inbox. I’m sending her your way along with all my wishes for a healthy, happy holiday season, no matter what holidays you celebrate this time of year. Because even though to me Christmas is extra special, no matter what our beliefs, one beautiful thing we all have in common is that at heart we all hope, dream and wish for the same things all year long, and especially so during the holidays: to be happy, healthy, and to have those we love around us. The calendar is size 8.5" x 11", and can be printed either in color or black and white. Please keep in mind: the artwork is copyrighted ©Cristina Tudor Art. The calendar is for your personal use only, cannot be duplicated or redistributed, and it is not for resale. Feel free to share my website cristinatudor.com with friends and family if they wish to subscribe for a free copy of my monthly calendar of their own - if they sign up for the calendar at any time during the month of December, she will arrive immediately in their inbox. Thank you for respecting copyrights and supporting creativity 🙏
And will you please do me a favor? Take pics of your Christmas Girl in the space where she inspires you daily and share them with me on Instagram: use the hashtag #ctudorcalendar and tag me @thecristinatudor so I can see them! It would make my day, and I would love to feature your pics on my Instagram! With the best of wishes, and all my love, have a happy and safe holiday season full of joy and love! xo, Cristina Another bridal fashion illustration for a Matthew Christopher bride-to-be, a commission for the beautiful Anna in her Matthew dress and veil. She will always have her illustration to remember the day she found the wedding dress of her dreams at Panache Bridal in Pasadena, a tangible memory of a very special day! Congrats, Anna, have an amazing wedding and a happy marriage!
Hi guys, I’m so excited about the upcoming holidays right now! All year long, I can’t wait for the holidays, starting with Thanksgiving at the end of the month. I feel like as soon as November 1 is here, I start to reflect about everything in my life I have to be thankful for. My November calendar, Autumn Girl was inspired by all things fall that I love: the changing leaves, the crisp, cooler air, and of course, sweater weather! I love rich shades of cinnamon, burnt orange and rich reds in the fall, cozying up in thick, warm sweaters and scarves, fall booties and jeans, catching the change of season colors out in nature and hanging out with friends for lunch on sunny, cool fall days. If you like Autumn Girl, sign up at my website cristinatudor.com to get her before the end of November, and she will arrive in your inbox immediately!
Will you please do me a favor? Will you take pics of your Autumn Girl in the space where she inspires you daily and share them with me on Instagram? If you’d like to brighten up someone’s day, please share my website cristinatudor.com with them so they can download Autumn Girl, too. Thanks, and I hope you enjoy your calendar! Have a cozy, stylish and cheerful fall! xo Cristina With Halloween already here, I was in the mood to paint a Halloween themed illustration this morning. I was inspired by Kate Moss in a glamorous black mask with bunny ears, kinda the perfect Halloween costume.
Happy Halloween! xo Cristina Today I was inspired to bring high fashion to my fave place in LA: the beach, as I'm imagining the soft ocean breeze adding romance to a long, billowy dress ...
A short while ago, I was commissioned by Ted Baker London to paint live fashion illustrations of their customers at three separate events for the launching of their new Colour By Numbers capsule collection at stores throughout Los Angeles. I had such an amazing time combining the looks from the collection with customers I met in the store, in real life. I absolutely love ‘dressing up’ customers in their favorite looks, on the spot! The new Colour By Numbers collection is a fresh take on easy-to-wear styles that were made with the modern minimalist in mind. I am thrilled to share with you guys what this whole amazing experience was like, the fashion, the process and some of my illustrations. The first capsule launch event took place at the Westfield Century City mall on a Friday afternoon. I was super excited to meet the store team, to paint the new fab Colour By Numbers collection and to celebrate with the customers. Every item in this new capsule is so well designed, and the colors and patterns are a lot of fun. I seriously love every piece! The next day, on Saturday, I went to the Santa Monica Place store, adjacent to the 3rd Street Promenade and right next to the beach and the Santa Monica Pier, where I got to meet some lovely customers who were as excited about the new collection as I was. This beauty chose this fun and flirty @ted_colourbynumbers chiffon dress with an all-over heart print for me to paint her in at the Santa Monica Place store. From Santa Monica, I braved the LA traffic on the PCH to the store at the Malibu Country Mart, which is one of my favorite places to visit, get fashion inspiration and hang out here in LA. Made it with time to spare and got down to live painting the customers in their favorite outfits from the collection. A closer look at this lovely Ted Baker London customer in Malibu, who chose this chic heart-printed romper from the new Colour By Numbers capsule for me to paint her in. And let’s not forget the most awesome heels with wide ankle straps from the Ted Baker collection! She went from life to illustration in just a few short minutes, super fun! #fromlifetoillo I dressed up @audiebgood in her fave dress from the new Colour By Numbers capsule for her live sketch at the Malibu Country Mart store, complete with these fab lavender and purple @ted_baker heels with ankle straps! I took her from life to illustration in her favorite outfit on the spot. #fromlifetoillo What an amazing collaboration and experience! Thank you for having me, @ted_baker, I’ve had so much fun live-painting customers in their #TedToToe looks from the collection and working with such a great team of people! I loved every minute of it! Looking forward to the next one!
A short while ago I had the chance to meet Matthew, the incredible designer and creator of the Matthew Christopher bridal label. His wedding dresses are a dream, and I was super excited to paint live fashion illustrations of his amazing designs at the Panache Bridal salon in Pasadena. Brides-to-be received one of my custom fashion illustrations with a Matthew gown purchase. I was delighted to create these tangible keepsakes for these ladies to celebrate and remember the special moment they found the wedding dress of their dreams! It was a pleasure to witness the moving experience of finding the perfect Matthew Christopher wedding gown for all the happy brides who said Yes to the dress and will be #marriedinmatthew ! Here is a small collection of memories from the two wonderful days I spent with all the beautiful Matthew Christopher brides at Panache Bridal in Pasadena:
Thank you, Matthew and team, for having me, and thanks Panache for being such generous and kind hosts, I had an amazing time!
I find inspiration pretty much everywhere: in street fashion, magazines, on Pinterest and Instagram ... And a lot of times on my daily walk or run. Today it's raining here in Los Angeles, finally, and I got to take my walk through my neighborhood in the rain, which is such a rare treat for me these days. Long gone are the cold Chicago days, and now that I've been back in my beloved LA almost 6 years, it's hard to come by weather much. But today, even though it's overcast, the air is crisp, the greens are happy and the colors are saturated and vibrant! These birds of paradise beauties were winking at me as I was walking by, just begging to be painted, with their flirtatious oranges and greens and purples. And after my walk in the rain, I came home and painted their portrait, letting orange and red and pink and purple and green dialogue and merge in serendipitous moments on the paper 🧡💚💜 Wishing you lots of inspiration this beautiful weekend and happy times outdoors! xo Cristina Obsessed with the explosion of color at the @prabalgurung New York Fashion Week Spring 2018 show! 💖💛💚💜 This look, with the sheer neon green over the yellow body suit and pops of colorblocked hot fuchsia is fantastic! And the shoes?? Yes, please! Genius!! Loved painting this from beginning to end! Follow me on Instagram at @thecristinatudor to see the latest and most current of my fashion illustrations. Today, my mom and I are celebrating 28 years in the States! 💙 🇺🇸 ❤️
28 years ago today, the two of us moved to Los Angeles from Romania, with one suitcase and a few words of English between the two of us, but with so much excitement to be here we could barely contain it - an impossible dream that all of a sudden became our incredible reality! October 3rd is easily the happiest day of my life, followed by a close second, March 16, the day I became a proud American citizen more than 17 years ago. The happiness, the culture shock, the disbelief that we actually moved to the promise land, aka California, to start the better parts of our lives are still so vivid in my memory. I remember telling myself on that miraculous day, almost three decades ago, that anything I will EVER do or accomplish from that day forward will be just the cherry on top. Because, as far as I was concerned, I had made the biggest, greatest dream I'd ever had come true! A true miracle! 💙 ‘Gib, Gib, come to California!’ was playing over and over in my head as we arrived at LAX in the middle of the night. The line Anthony Edwards says to John Cusack in ‘The Sure Thing’ as he’s hanging out by the pool in the dead of winter - one of the few but precious references I had to lead me as a young girl on my quest to some day live in LA, and it was actually, finally HAPPENING! ❤️ And here I am, so many years later, as grateful and incredibly happy to live an amazing life as a proud American, in this beautiful country of ours that I felt was home long before I moved here, celebrating each day and thankful I get to live here. On top of it all, it feels amazing to be going on 6 years since moving back to my beloved LA again, where it all began 28 years ago, always an LA girl at heart, and to live my dream in the only place that’s ever felt like my true home. 💙 Happy 28th anniversary, mommy! @ariclia 🥂 I love you and thank you SO much for all your sacrifices and for your constant unconditional love and support! Here’s to 28 more amazing years here at home! God bless America! 😘💙🇺🇸❤️✨ Hi guys, Are you as excited as I am about October and Halloween at the end of the month? Thought so! Every October 1st I get super excited about Halloween, and I start thinking about costume ideas. I love Halloween so much that sometimes I make 2 or 3 costumes and wear them at different parties, or even just during the day around town or during my work day. This year I’m leaning towards being a unicorn. Ya know, a rainbow of color, gold unicorn horn and lots of gold and sparkle! Gotta get my color and sparkle fix! ;) And of course, your calendar for October was inspired by my unicorn dreams, so I give you: Unicorn Girl! I hope you like Unicorn Girl, and maybe she’ll even inspire you to get going on your Halloween costume early on this year – I know I will! Take pics of your colorful Unicorn Girl in the space where she inspires you daily and share them with me on Instagram: use the hashtag #ctudorcalendar and tag me @thecristinatudor so I can see them! It would make my day, and I would love to feature your pics on my Instagram! And I definitely want to see pics of your Halloween costume this year, too :) If your friends need some Halloween inspiration, or you just want to brighten their day, please share my website cristinatudor.com with them so they can download Unicorn Girl, too - if they sign up for the calendar at any time during the month of October, she will arrive immediately in their inbox. Happy Halloween! xo, Cristina Obsessed with this neon green paillettes Prada dress! Looks just like my favorite neon chartreuse earrings I got in Florence, Italy a few years ago … only much, much better! It’s pure perfection, love the fringe effect, and Sarah Paulson looks so edgy and confident in it, amazing! The minute I saw @mssarahcatharinepaulson wearing it in InStyle Magazine I knew I had to paint her. So here she is, as a 36x48 fashion illustration for my new IGTV video.

And all the possibilities that a fresh new beginning would bring! My FREE CALENDAR for September, Nerdy Girl, was inspired by those memories for your September calendar. Are you ready for the start of fall? Are your kids going back to school? Or perhaps you're starting a fresh new school year this September? I hope you bring Nerdy Girl along with you to whatever new adventures this September brings you. Take pics of her in the space where she inspires you daily and share them with me on Instagram: use the hashtag #ctudorcalendar and tag me @thecristinatudor so I can see them! Enjoy the calendar! xo Cristina Hi guys,
If you haven't watched my IGTV channel on Instagram yet, you must! I launched it last week to share with you my live painting process, which is how I pant live at events like weddings, retail, fashion and entertainment events. And my first behind-the-scenes video is of live painting beautiful Luna Castilho's portrait, a stunning model and TV host from Brazil who is a model for one of my favorite bridal designers, Matthew Christopher. She loved her portrait so much, she wanted to hang it in her apartment in New York, so off it went to her. Super exciting, I love bringing together my paintings with my inspiration subjects! And speaking of inspiration: leave me a comment here or on Instagram and tell me who you'd like to see me paint next. I'll pull a name out of the hat each week, and stay tuned on my Instagram account @thecristinatudor to watch a new live painting video each Tuesday and see who I paint next. Today I am sharing with you my second IGTV video where I live-paint a large scale fashion illustration of the talented Lupita Nyong'o, at the request of @musicallytrained This is an acrylic painting on paper, inspired by a photo by Tom Munro of Lupita wearing a form fitting white Celine sweater dress and glam Celine statement earrings in the December 2014 issue of Glamour Magazine. So whose fashion illustration or portrait do you want me to paint next on IGTV? Is there someone whose style you admire, a famous bride whose dress you love, or an actress/singer who inspires you? A strong woman who inspires you? Don’t hold back, flood my comments, I would LOVE to get suggestions from you guys for painting subjects! Follow along @thecristinatudor on Instagram to see who I pick for my next video and to see if your choice made the cut! ;) See you guys next Tuesday on IGTV! xo Cristina Hi guys,

Thanks so much Abi and The Bare Minimum team for featuring me in your awesome magazine, I’m so happy we connected! 🙏 I'm super psyched for our future collaborations 💖 Hi guys, Super excited to announce the launch of my IGTV channel on Instagram today at @thecristinatudor! I love sharing my live painting process with you all, which is how I pant live at events like weddings, retail, fashion and entertainment events. And Instagram's new feature is just perfect for sharing all my behind-the-scenes with you! To start my IGTV channel, I chose to paint a portrait of the beautiful Luna Castilho, a stunning model and TV host from Brazil who loves supporting and empowering women. She also happens to be a model for one of my favorite bridal designers, Matthew Christopher, which is how I first came across her on Instagram and was inspired to paint her portrait. For this painting, based on one of Luna's Instagram pics, I used acrylic paints on paper and painted straight on the blank paper, cold, without drawing any preliminary sketches, using only her photo as reference. Follow along @thecristinatudor on Instagram to see who I pick for my next video and to see if your choice made the cut! ;) See you guys on IGTV! xo Cristina Hi guys,

Enjoy the calendar! xo Cristina I recently connected with LA beauty @doreengal and we bonded over our common love of LA and fashion. So, naturally, we decided to collaborate in a way that combines these two things we both love. For our collaboration, I illustrated Doreen wearing this regal Nordstrom gown by Aidan Mattox to a wedding in Beverly Hills. Love the understated print and soft colors on this voluminous skirt! With her flowing locks, pointy toe heels and minimal clutch, Doreen looks like the belle of the ball!
